Hey gang! So much has happened in the last two months. Fun things, new things, transformational things. I had hoped to keep the regular updates going, but my full-time job has been very much- well- full time! I'm finally getting a moment to come back here and give some highlights:
- We went to the beach! Jolene loved letting the (frigid Pacific) tide wash over her while I played photographer in my sweatshirt. She's definitely a beach gal!
- She got to try a new device called the Levity Gait Trainer. We're hoping to keep this in her therapy rotation to help build strength and independence in walking.
- Therapy mini-horses at school! She was absolutely enamored. What a fun day.
- Disneyland! We've been a few times before with her, but this time she was more aware than ever-- really looking around and noticing things. It was fun to watch her enjoy the park. And she was tall enough to ride her first rollercoaster, which was met with a combination of shock and joy.
We've reached 75% of our fundraising goal and have already been able to schedule two more therapy intensives for her this year that otherwise wouldn't have been possible. Thank you. This is such an incredible gift to be able to give her. It's an opportunity to really take advantage of these early years where her brain is primed to learn fundamental skills. We're so hopeful that these additional therapies will go far in building that foundation so that she can grow and thrive.
