This week was another roller coaster of emotions. At the beginning of the week, my dad passed away at his home. I was thankful that I had a chance to say goodbye after he went on hospice and that my brother David was able to be with him at the end. For several weeks, my dad has been saying that he had a long, happy life and this brings me comfort, but it's still hard. I am not only loosing him, but I will soon finally say goodbye to my childhood, as my brothers and I will need to clean everything out of the house where we grew up after the funeral. My parents rarely got rid of anything and since I am their youngest child and moved there when I was 2, I have the most memories and stuff there. This process will also require me to be away from my home with Marcus and Scott. Marcus is doing well right now, but I always worry when I am out of town.

The end of this week brought joy though, as we celebrated Scott's graduation from middle school. These years included several emotional, physical, academic, and social challenges, and we are proud of how he handled them. He is a good kid, fast growing into a responsible, hard-working young man, in between the normal teenage goofiness and moods of course. He's ready for the high school years, even if we are not!
