9/272026 36 hours after accident

Today, he slept for most of the day, occasionally opening his eyes. His pain remains severe, and the medical team is working to manage it with multiple medications.

We had a little scare today when there was concern that he might be leaking spinal fluid, but after a neurological evaluation, he was cleared. They will continue to monitor him closely because of his skull fracture.

We did receive some good news today—he passed his vision test. 🙏 He will have a follow-up appointment in 1–2 weeks, and they will continue watching closely for any changes because he fractured the bones supporting his eyes, 2 of many of his facial fractures.

We know there is still a long road ahead, but today Joseph is here, he is resting, and his body is working to heal.
