There are things that will/are needed. The cost needed to use the NIV (non invasive ventilator) he was prescribed recently averaged $800/month before the insurance deductible was met. We now have costs associated with a cough assist machine (machine is on-loan from CCALS but the cost for the respiratory therapist the calibrate it and the cost for the peripherals will be ongoing); additionally we have other prescriptions and supplements that are not covered by insurance that average roughly $750/month; Joe will need a hoyer lift or something similar soon to get in and out of bed/the shower, etc; and more.
