Well Punxsutawney fans,
Its Friday again, wait again? Have we done this before? Hmmm, same room, same bed, big metal Christmas tree with IV pumps and a Chemo bag hung on it. Wait a second have I done this before? I HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE! Right?
Yes everyone I have started Chemo again but this is different from the others as it targets the donors product from the transplant now in my body. This new genetic material arrived with some of the previous owners settings and instructions. This evenings Chemo is targeting it's reaction to "foreign" cells which are my cells. A condition called Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) a medical complication that occurs when white blood cells from donated tissue (the graft) recognize the recipient's body (the host) as foreign and attack its healthy cells. This is a preventive treatment to keep the cells happy and GVHD from happening.
Everyone, thank you all for the views, prayers, donations, and comments. Please keep spreading the word everything helps and is appreciated. Have I said that before? It's seems familiar.
