When I wake up, people take up mostly all of my time. . .
Today as usual started very early, 12-midnight vitals check (temperature, O2 & CO2 levels, Heart rate, blood pressure), then meds (usually pills), bathroom then weight in, IV checks. 4AM vitals check, blood draws, more pills, IV hang. 7AM nurse change, meeting with inbound team with outbound team and go over the days plan. A little later anti-infection IV hung, more meds all different from the early two. Floor MD rotation meeting with them and their staff, review past 24 hours make adjustments. Lot's of up and down due to the IV to go to the bathroom. Everything gets measured. I'm sure I need not dwell on that. I am getting excellent care, the rest of the day follows similarly. While trying to get some laps in, use the breathing tool to prevent water build up in the lungs, eating meals while trying to focusing on protein to keep organs running. This is tricky due to the nausea brought on by the whole process.
All in all my numbers continue to fall as planned. I enter the next phase tomorrow, more Chemo on a multi day run but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Thank you all for the continued care, attention, and sharing this with me.
