"Malfunction. Need input." -Number 5
Good day crew,
Tomorrow (Monday) is my out-patient lab day, line care, and meeting with my care team. I expect the usual blood work and the changing of my tri-line sterile bandage. Last week some questions were raised as to the function of one of my lines and some concern over Tacro contamination to the other two lines. We planned on getting about 120 days of use out of the unit but depending on the units function this might get cut short. Fingers crossed we are able work through the issues so we do not have to go through arm pokes in the near future.
Last week my numbers held, so no platelets or blood transfusions last Thursday. (Nice)

I still have some bruising left over from the daily tummy shots while I was in hospital. The area also is still tender to the touch. Hmmm, I'm sure my body has a long repair list with a lot more higher priority items. But, I am used to the pre-sick Jason who repaired/healed and recovered much faster.
I continue to walk the repetitive daily tight rope of medications, IV's, and keeping me and my area clean. As my medical team regularly reminds me 90% of my germ exposure is from my own body. So lots of hand washing, sheet changing, blanket rotations, disinfecting everything over and over, it is almost comical when something touches the ground and gets written off until it can be re-wiped down. The number of bleach wipes, hand sanitizer, and latex gloves stationed around the small area of the house I am permitted would rival most critical care wards in many countries.
"Number 5 stupid name... want to be Kevin or Dave!" -Number 5
Well more as it happens. Thank you all for the great support, well wishes, and continued interest in my updates.
Cheers!
