1st appt in the books

We had our initial visit with Emory Brain Center today, after a very long 6 week wait. The visit went very smoothly and they were very thorough. Lots of information, lots of questions, and lots of new faces that we gladly welcome to our team as we face the unknown. Today was all about establishing J’s baseline. The doctor did confirm what the other neurologist had said that we were indeed facing a diagnosis of ALS. They did blood tests to get further information regarding its exact makeup and such. We were able to establish our appointments for the next 6 months, get on a medical plan with prescriptions and necessary aids to help keep his quality of life at its peak, and start the ball rolling with talk of “the what nexts “. Although we got much accomplished today, neither of us feel overwhelmed by the appointments or by the information brought to us-which is a HUGE answer to that specific prayer. We will be connecting with companies certified to help us realize the changes that we need to make in our home in the coming weeks-so please continue to pray for wisdom and for the lord to lead us in this area. J is still working full time and is continuing to ask for prayer in wisdom to when this may need to change. 
We definitely feel so loved and lifted up by our family and our community. We are so thankful for the care we are receiving from those surrounding us and from the team at Emory. We know the Lord is present with us and we are so thankful for that peace. We love you all and thank you for your continued prayers.
