Ileisha Sanders
It has been way too long for an update, I am sorry! It has been a busy month and a half.
Ileisha continues to handle her diagnosis like an absolute champ. She has completed the first course of chemo, the "red devil," which is the stronger of the two courses. She luckily handled it very well and had only 4 bad days each course. She would be back to normal (and work!) by Tuesday! This course was every other week which meant she had 10 good days. She did lose her hair, but she looks amazing with a shaved head - way better than I would!!
She started her next course of chemo today, and we are hoping for fewer recovery days, because this one is weekly. Ileisha did also have a recent scan that showed another tumor in her breast, which means that she will definitely have to have a double mastectomy and reconstruction, probably in September.
Prayer requests are for fewer recovery days this course, and for the chemo to shrink the tumors.
Since chemo is every week now, meals are welcome any time! Feel free to volunteer, or reach out (kristynn352@gmail.com) and I can help coordinate.
Ileisha has always been an inspiration, and her journey with cancer has just amplified that. So lucky to be her friend 🧡
