Day 29 continue update
I forgot to include an important update from Day 29. Jazmyne’s chest X-ray showed some haziness in her lungs — the beginning stages of pneumonia. Hearing that word never gets easier.
The encouraging part is that the steroids she just started to calm the GVHD rash will also help reduce the inflammation in her lungs. So while we are fighting one battle, it is also helping address another.
Day 26’s chest X-ray showed clear lungs with no haziness, no immediate concern. Just two days later, on Day 28, when the wet cough began, a repeat X-ray told a different story. There is now haziness in the left lower lobe.
Seeing the comparison side by side is sobering. It’s a reminder of how quickly things can shift in her little body.
The X-ray also confirms the placement of her central line and mediport …constant visual reminders of how much support she still needs right now.
We will repeat the chest X-ray next week to monitor progress and pray we see clear improvement.
We are believing this was caught early. We are trusting that what the enemy meant for harm, God will use for healing.
