Friday Update 9/4/2026 Day 18

 Hayden underwent a very intense 9-hour surgery on Tuesday. After surgery and recovery, she was taken back to the PICU, where she remained until today.

Today, she had a bandage change, and we were thankful to hear that the doctor said everything is looking good. Her cultures are still showing a slight presence of fungus, so the doctors are continuing to monitor that closely.

If everything comes back clear on Tuesday, the next step will be scheduling her skin grafts. At this time, we are being told she may still be in the hospital for approximately another two weeks.

It has already been such a long road, but we are grateful for every bit of progress she continues to make. We are praying that everything clears, her skin grafts can move forward, and before long she will finally be released to come home and continue healing surrounded by her family.
