Harper's Recovery
Well my packing and being organized didn’t ward off an admission but at least I was prepared.
Harper’s energy and appetite really tanked yesterday. She napped which she doesn’t typically do and asked to go to bed at 4:30. Around 6 she spiked a fever so we took her to the ED.
She was admitted and we got her settled and to a room before 11. She’s still running a fever at times and her hemoglobin which had been pretty good in clinic on Tuesday dropped pretty significantly. It makes sense with how she was acting yesterday.
She is getting blood now so hopefully that will perk her up.
Our other complication is that poor Ryan woke up congested and tested positive for Covid this morning. Harper and I have no symptoms and she tested negative. Our oncologist did make us feel better though and explained that kids with no immune system tend to do better with Covid since it ramps up the immune system to attack and she doesn’t have one. Hopefully she just continues to stay negative.
We would appreciate all the positive vibes and prayers that we can make it through what is hopefully her last chemo related admission as uneventfully as possible.
