We were very fortunate to be gifted tickets to the Pirates game against the Braves this weekend. My sister and her family met us in Atlanta and we were able to stay with my brother in laws oldest brother in the most beautiful house 10 minutes from the stadium.

Since it was a 7 pm game we explored the Georgia Aquarium during the day. Harper loved it! She was chauffeured around by her cousins Colin and Molly. Their cousin Eliza also joined us and it was fun to watch them all together.

When we got to the Braves stadium Harper was welcomed with clapping and cheering! One lovely staff member brought her a gold Braves jersey for childhood cancer awareness.

We had excellent seats behind the pirates dugout but our signs were a little annoying to the Braves fans behind us(we only put them up between plays) so we shifted over a section with more pirates fans. We ended up sitting by Nick Gonzales’s the Pirates SS/2nd baseman’s dad! We also met a very sweet man battling brain cancer and he was so moved by Harper’s story. Then a Braves staff member brought Harper a foul ball.

At the 7th inning stretch we went down closer to the dugout with our signs. One of the pirates must have seen it so they had a ball sent up to our seats. Then in the 8th inning we were invited down to the lowest section to watch the Pirates win! Then at the end of the game we were allowed to go right behind the dugout steps. We made it on to the Pirates broadcast with our signs and one of the coaches gave us an Andrew McCutchen bat and another ball!

We finished our trip watching the Steelers play and win in Ireland. Harper got some pool time with her Aunt Kellie!

We could not have asked for a more fun way to celebrate Harper being done with treatment than this weekend!
