How do you even begin to thank someone for saving the life of someone you love?

This is Dr. Weber -- Georges cardiothoracic surgeon

Five weeks ago, George arrived at St David's Hospital fighting for his life. Since that day, Dr. Weber has been there every step of the way. She has performed two life-saving surgeries, lead his care, made countless critical decisions and guided an incredible team that never gave up on him.

After George spent a week intubated following his LVAD surgery, one of the very first people he saw when he woke up was Dr. Weber.

He reached out, grabbed her hand, looked at her and simply said, "Thank you for saving my life."

Then, in true George fashion, he added: "I named my LVAD 'Weber' after you".

That moment was so perfectly George - his humor, his gratitude, and his incredibly kind heart shining through.

This team continues to amaze us every single day. Their compassion, skill and dedication have carried George through some of the hardest days of his life. They have celebrated every milestone, faced every setback with determination and never stopped fighting for him. For that, we will be forever grateful.

There is still a long road ahead, but we have complete confidence that George is exactly where he needs to be. With this incredible team beside him, we know he is in the very best hands.
