Gary & Janet Cobus
Hello friends, Gary was moved to Courage Kenny in Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis yesterday afternoon. His heart doctor approved the move and he got settled in last night.
He had his first day of therapy today and they are moving him into a larger room this afternoon. He had a pretty painful night with low back pain and pain down his left leg. He described it as "the worst pain I have had in my life. It was excruciating.). Say some prayers that they can help him with that pain--it is so hard to see him in such pain. We knew this surgery was going to be a tough recovery, but you are never prepared for that kind of pain.
I will post his room number when I know it. He will be in rehab through November 30th. He is usually done with therapy by 4:00pm. If anyone would like to come and visit, you could come and have dinner with him or just visit. You need to call this number to make sure he is able to see visitors: 612-775-2837
If you come, park in the purple ramp (28th and Chicago) and take the skyway on the 3rd floor. Stop at the information desk in the skyway and they can better describe the best way to get to Courage Kenny.
If you want to bring any of his favorite foods, we need to know the day before so he doesn't order cafeteria food. Here are a few suggestions: Chipotle, Subway, Mexican Food, homemade something. You can always call/text me or Gary for more information.
Thank you again for your good vibes and love.
