The name Jehovah-Jireh is a Hebrew name for God meaning, "The Lord will provide." It was first used by Abraham in Genesis 22 when God tested him by telling him to sacrifice his only son Isaac on the altar as a burnt offering. Just as Abraham is about follow through with God's command-- knife-in-hand, God stops him. Verses 12-14: The angel of the Lord said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called the name of that place, “The LORD will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”
I haven't been able to work to support my family since late 2019, but God has made it abundantly clear to me that he is the one who provides. The past several years have been proof of his goodness and his faithfulness as our needs have always been taken care of. God desires for each of us to withhold nothing from him and place our trust, our hope completely in him.
We're still steadily getting closer to our goal! Please continue to share and pray. God bless.
