We recently got to attend a zoom meeting with Advocacy Abby. DId you know that it costs bewteen 1.4-2.4 million to raise a child with disabilities!?! While I'm pretty saavy at finding ways to get products and services for Frankie, there are still significant costs that are out of pocket. There are many items we use daily that are not covered under our insurance. These items include (but are not limited to) things like wipes, mouth swabs and brushes, syringes for medicine, pedialyte, distilled water, vaseline, trash bags, probiotics, disinfecting wipes, biokleen, cleansing wipes, protein enhancers, reuseable incontinence bed pads (Insurance covers only 6 a year), backbacks for feedings, positioning pillows, extra thrapies (including massage and hand for spasticity/muscle contraction) and the cost of maintenance for devices like her Tobii, wheelchair lift and ceiling lift to name a few. 

Frankie loves to be out in the community, but with the extra costs of the above items, it isn't often something we can budget in.
