Joseph and Hannah Forster Family
In June I traveled down to the Cancer Center for Healing for a bio-immune test to see where my body is at. Based on the results from that, we are still seeing lots of inflammation in my body, and other burdens on my immune system. So we are continuing with a more heavy-duty immune protocol. I have a new supplement/prescription routine that I am still getting the hang of. I have one more trip planned down there in September for a quick anti-cancer treatment, and then a follow up in January of 2026 to reevaluate.
In the meantime, I have switched to a new oncologist here at home, and am learning the ropes of a new hospital system. Each one has a different routine for how they handle appts and blood draws and scans. My new oncologist is much more open to my pursuing integrative care, and that has lessened my stress considerably! I had a new set of scans (CT and bone scan) done in July, and they came back all clear for visible cancer still!
Life in general has become a regular whirl of managing my ever-shifting care routine, finishing out our homeschool year in May, keeping all the home and family rhythms running, doing all the fun summer things we planned for our family, and planning and prepping for the next homeschool year, alongside all the rest of the pieces that make up ordinary life. I often (always?) feel like there’s not enough of me to stretch into all that life holds, but that’s kind of the point, isn’t it? I come to the end of myself and my own small strength, and find God, and His never-ending strength for whatever path He has set in front of me, be it getting on the phone to schedule yet one more doctor appointment, facing down anxiety waiting for scan results, planning the menu for a child’s birthday, rearranging the chore routine as the kids grow up, or simply being present to play board games with the family.
We are ever thankful for everyone’s prayers and support! We would appreciate prayers for continued remission, and wisdom as there are always new decisions to be made about what care paths to take as we adjust the current care plan and look to future direction. Thank you all for your love and care of us!
