A week ago I was mentally composing a belated update on my first trip to the cancer center in CA, and what our next steps would be—
BUT— then we received some unexpected wonderful news!
BUT— then we received some unexpected wonderful news!
My routine cancer scans came back clear, meaning there is no longer any cancer detectable by visual scans in my body!
This is surprising and sudden and to be honest we are still a little in shock. We are also busting at the seams with amazement and thankfulness!
Conventional take on this is that I responded extremely well to treatment and I’m in “remission,” but because of the bone metastases, it’s a matter of when, not if it comes back, and we keep on with treatment indefinitely and do routine scans to keep an eye out for it.
On the integrative side of things, my doctor from the center in CA, says this is fantastic progress, and now that we have gotten ahead of the cancer, we have the opportunity to really dig down and eradicate anything still in there for good. We were all prepped to begin a 12 week treatment down there next week, but with this new information we are moving on to the next step of the plan! I have a detailed protocol to follow at home for 60 days. I’ll be going down to CA for a couple short stays in April and May for some treatments and tests, and we’ll keep up with the conventional side of things as well to stay on top of things. After that we’ll reevaluate again. Long term I will likely still be traveling at least once a quarter to do testing and possibly further treatments down in CA.
Please join us in praising God for this great and wonderful mercy! And please continue to pray for good health and wisdom navigating the path ahead.
