Finn is keeping us on our toes with how quickly his jokes and personality are coming back. In true Finn fashion, they keep having to come up with new ways to challenge him in rehab. He has been asked multiple times if he is left handed (he is not), because he is eating on his own left handed, writing left handed, texting left handed, and even shooting and making hoops in rehab left handed. His right arm is slowly getting feeling back. His right leg is gaining a lot of strength and mobility each day.

We honestly can’t even describe the emotional rollercoaster we have all been on in the last week. But I will say, looking back to where it all began, it is honestly a miracle he is so far along in his recovery in such a short period of time. Every doctor and nurse that has cared for him has been completely blown away but his determination and “can do” attitude. Not to mention how amazing his positivity is even through this crazy life event. He is so motivated to get back to school to see all of his friends and teachers.

Once again, I want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone near and far. The outpouring of support is just incredible! It is hard to put into words what it has meant to Finn and our family! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We love you all!!!!

What a wonderful update on Finn! It’s so good that his progress is so much about who he is and his approach to the world. He’s a lucky guy to have incredible parents, sister, family and friends.
Get after it, Finn!

Hi team, on behalf of the Southern Hills community and in honor of Finn we brought food to Fire Station 4 this week to say thank you and to let them know about Finn’s progress (shared with ambulance team too). Oftentimes they respond and don’t know how the story ends, so they were incredibly grateful for the update. A number of them are also parents, so it is deeply personal. They are cheering him on!
