We have received the final results from Blakely’s bone marrow aspirate to give us the answers as to why she hasn’t engrafted. Thankfully they have found no leukemia!! Though there wasn’t much in the marrow, only Blakely’s cells were to be found, none of Dad’s cells. This means graft failure. 

We aren’t sure why exactly the cells didn’t stick… but we are working on a new plan for a 2nd transplant as we speak. Most likely another transplant of Dad’s cells, retrieved peripherally this time. The original 10/10 donor, is not available to donate cells until December which wouldn’t work. And doing all the work up for me or a half match unrelated would take too much time. 

We need to act quickly as it’s not ideal for Blakely to be neutropenic (no immune system) for so long, especially with her recent gut and blood infections still healing up with no white blood cells. 

Please pray for Blakely to remain healthy and free from any infections and complications. Please pray for the doctors to carefully create a new safe plan for Blakely.
