Tomorrow is a big day for our Blakely girl!! She is officially 6 months out from her bone marrow transplant and along with a bone marrow aspirate test tomorrow… she is also GETTING HER BROVIAC OUT!! Such a big milestone for our girl!! This doesn’t mean she’s done with her treatments, but that we don’t need the tubes like we used to. She has been practicing getting IVs and is so brave! We are so so so excited for her line to be removed to reduce infection risks and give her more freedom! Oh and no more weekly dressing changes! 👏🏼👏🏼

Later this week Blakely will be getting her first round of DLI. DLI stands "Donor Lymphocyte Infusion”  where lymphocytes (white blood cells) from the donor (me) are infused back into her bloodstream, aiming to stimulate the immune system to attack any remaining cancer cells that might be hiding, essentially using the donor's immune cells to fight against the patient's cancer. DLI can cause GVHD, which as you know, she has experienced with her skin. We are hoping for a small amount of GVHD but nothing too crazy! She will have up to 3 rounds of DLI that are spaced out every 6 weeks depending on the grade of GVHD she gets. 

If you could send all the good vibes and prayers for Blakely’s procedure to go well, that she remains 100% donor, cancer free, and that DLI goes well. 

She is still battling BK virus, thankfully her pain has gone away but we do need numbers to continue to decrease and that her immune system to continue to fight it off so we don’t have to use the medication that is very hard on her kidneys. 

In a few weeks she will also receive her last round of chemo EVERRRRR. 

So many good things coming, keep praying for our girl!! She’s a fighter!!
