We’re so happy to share that Emory is home and making progress every single day. He’s beginning to eat and drink more consistently, and his sleep/wake cycles are slowly starting to normalize. His wakeful periods are increasing, and while he’s still very sensitive to light and visual stimulation, we’ve seen improvement thanks to blue light blockers that are helping him gradually reintroduce light and visual input.

We’ve been absolutely blown away—and deeply humbled—by the outpouring of love and support from all of you. Our community of family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and even people we've never met have reminded us how truly surrounded we are by kindness and generosity.

Thanks to your donations, we’ve been able to make necessary modifications to support Emory’s daily living needs and begin early treatment for his traumatic brain injury (TBI). He is currently undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy three times a week, which increases oxygenation to the brain and helps reduce inflammation—key to brain healing. He’s also receiving PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) treatments targeted at his neck to improve circulation, reduce inflammation and pain, and support cellular repair.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be starting follow-up appointments with neurosurgery and new consultations with neurology and concussion specialists. We will begin therapies to target visual and vestibular reintegration as well as addressing balance and movement.  Unfortunately, many of these treatments and providers are not covered by our insurance—but because of your generosity, we can give Emory access to the best possible care, without limitations.

We are so grateful for every donation, every prayer, and every word of encouragement. Your support is lifting us up during this incredibly challenging time and giving us hope. We’re encouraged by the progress we see in Emory, and we truly believe in the healing that lies ahead.

With so much love and gratitude,
the Kelsay family
