Emerson Bonine's Stem Cell Journey
đź©·Week 3 update đź©·
As we head into week 3, we’re so thankful to share that we’ve raised $1,280 toward our $8,500 goal. Every donation, share, and message has meant more to us than we can put into words.
January is coming fast, and every dollar brings us one step closer to getting Emerson to Arizona for her stem cell therapy. This treatment has the potential to help her brain heal and support her development in so many ways — including mobility, strength, speech, and independence.
This week we’re still in St. Louis, wrapping up week three of her DMI intensive. We’ll be heading home Thursday night—just in time to celebrate Tyler’s birthday and Christmas. The holidays have felt a little different this year since we’ve been away for three weeks. I haven’t been home to decorate like I usually do or take part in as many Christmas festivities with the kids, which has been hard. But I know in the long run it will all be worth it, because getting these three weeks of intensive therapy in for her is what matters most.
She’s currently doing two hours a day of DMI Physical Therapy (Dynamic Movement Intervention), and it has made such a difference. Since starting this type of therapy in April, she has grown noticeably stronger, and we’ve seen so much progress.💪🏻
We’ll be leaving for Arizona on January 26, with her first appointment at Total Wellness Clinic on the 27th. I’m really looking forward to sharing this journey with everyone—walking you through the process and, most importantly, sharing her progress afterward. We’ll also be returning in April to St. Louis for another three-week intensive, when the stem cells are at their peak. Combining stem cells with intensive therapies gives her the best possible chance to make the greatest gains.
One other cool thing that is happening tomorrow is Emerson and I are going to the St Louis Blues hockey game! 🏒They asked if we wanted free tickets to go as one of the players guests, Colton Parayko (#55) through his foundation. He partners with with Ronald McDonald House charities. We get to meet him after the game and Emerson will get a jersey!! Since we get four tickets and Tyler and Avery cannot come, we are taking Emerson's PT Lauren with us!❤️
We are so grateful for the love and support surrounding Emerson. Thank you for helping us fight for her future and give her this life-changing opportunity. 🤍
Love,
Lindsey
