I am absolutely thrilled to say we did it, we reached the fundraiser goal, and some more. This is incredible. It shows there is so much power in togetherness and there really is kindness around us. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for your contributions, sharing, and support words. I went to CTV News yesterday to share this update, check the video HERE.

Shout out to my colleagues at BGC Engineering for the last push during last week's AGM, and especially to Alex/Lindi/Aissata for organizing the drones raffle. I definitely felt the love for me, for Elliot and apparently for drones!

I am hoping to get the walking frame needed for the Trexo robotic legs to be covered by the At Home Program (provincial government). As mentioned in a previous update, this will take some months but I think we can get Elliot on his new Robot-Walker before the summer months, or at the very least, by the next school year.

We raised some extra money. The needs for support never really ends when we talk about disability empowerment and inclusion.
The extra money will go towards the purchase of an adapted e-bike for wheelchair so Elliot and I (or a caregiver) can go for rides around beautiful Victoria. We will pair the extra money from the fundraiser to a grant I am hopeful to get from Bear Essentials (Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island) to purchase this bike, called the VeloPlus from VanRamm. Je suis absolument ravie d'annoncer que nous avons atteint notre objectif de collecte de fonds, et même plus. C'est incroyable et cela montre à quel point l'union et la gentillesse qui nous entourent sont puissantes. Je tiens à remercier mes collègues de BGC Engineering pour ce dernier effort lors de l'assemblée générale annuelle de la semaine dernière, et en particulier Alex, Lindi et Aissata pour avoir organisé le "raffle" des drones. J'ai vraiment ressenti votre affection pour moi, pour Elliot et apparemment pour les drones !

J'espère que le programme At Home (gouvernement provincial) couvrira le déambulateur nécessaire aux jambes robotiques Trexo. Comme mentionné dans une précédente mise à jour, cela prendra quelques mois, mais je pense que nous pourrons équiper Elliot de son nouveau Robot-Walker avant l'été, ou au plus tard d'ici la prochaine année scolaire.

Les besoins en matière de soutien ne s'arrêtent jamais vraiment lorsqu'il s'agit d'indépendance et d'inclusion des personnes en situation de handicapes.
L'argent supplémentaire servira à l'achat d'un vélo électrique adapté aux fauteuils roulants afin qu'Elliot et moi (ou un aidant) puissions faire des balades dans la magnifique ville de Victoria. Nous ajouterons l'argent supplémentaire récolté lors de la collecte de fonds à une subvention que j'espère obtenir de Bear Essentials (Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island) pour acheter ce vélo, appelé VeloPlus de VanRamm.
