Elijah had his first clinical trial follow up in Texas! The doctors were not expecting much changes yet. His lab value they are monitoring prior to medication was 6.6 and their goal is get it below 2. They did draw labs, which he is a very hard stick. I wasn’t too thrilled with the lab and how they handled things but we got it done. Poor guy got a few different pokes to get what they needed. We were told the lab could take up to 10 days to result because it is a send out. When we get the results, they will change the dosing on his medication and we will be expected back in office 2 weeks later. He has been struggling with a lot of pain from his dystonia so we discussed this with his provider and our struggle to get this cared for back home. He was putting in a referral for their team who specializes in this! Hopefully we can get another set of eyes and expertise who can get him the relief! We decided to make a little trip of it and took Elijah to his first Texas Rangers game in their stadium. Through discomfort episodes, we were able to stay for almost all of the game, left in the 8th inning. We won! GO RANGERS! We were able to travel the next day and meet my niece and her boyfriend in Waco. We had lunch and explored Magnolia Market (next time I will be going to the Dr. Pepper museum. From there we were able to visit my moms house for the first time and enjoy our time together. We headed home this afternoon and stopped in my old stomping grounds for the night so tomorrows drive won’t be so long. I also learned a new way to pack all of Elijah’s stuff so this trip was a lot smoother! Thank you for your prayers and support! We will keep you posted as things progress!
