Eiley's Continued SMA Journey
We wanted to share an update on something new we’ve recently added to Eiley’s at-home therapy routine—a non-invasive spinal electrical stimulation device. This therapy is designed to stimulate muscle movement, enhance neuromuscular coordination, and support improvements in motor, sensory, and autonomic function.
During her last intensive therapy program, her physical therapist used this device daily for three weeks, and the results were remarkable. We saw a significant improvement in her scoliosis, with her spine going from a noticeable curve to nearly straight. This visible progress gave us so much hope.
Because of those results, we applied for funding through her school and were incredibly grateful to receive a grant to bring this therapy home. We are now using the device consistently at home, and we’re optimistic about what continued use may bring. Our current goals include addressing her kyphosis, improving foot pronation, and strengthening her hips.
Eiley continues to face challenges that would be overwhelming for most, yet she meets them with resilience and a joyful spirit. While it can be difficult to ask so much of her at such a young age, her determination and strength inspire us every day.
We are deeply thankful for the support, encouragement, and prayers that have carried us this far. As we continue pursuing therapies and tools that help Eiley thrive, your support makes a meaningful difference in her journey. 💜
