My dad is currently detained at Baker County Detention Center. Obviously, I was not at all familiar with this facility, so I decided to search it up. Imagine my reaction when the first result following the location information is an article from the American Civil Liberties Union demanding the immediate shutdown of this facility due to its continued human rights violations.

"Immigrants at the Baker County Detention Center in Macclenny, Florida are experiencing a range of abuses, including excessive use of force, extreme medical neglect, racist harassment, retaliation, voyeurism, impediments to accessing legal counsel, and lack of adequate hygiene and food."
This page purports a timeline events spanning from 2022 to 2024 that highlights the continued neglect and malice carried out here. I can only weep and hope that my dad is okay. As of August 11, I've only gotten to speak to him once on Saturday, August 8, and unfortunately his point of view is just as haunting as these incidents.
Please wish him well. If you have ever supported the atrocities carried out by immigration enforcement and considered "illegal aliens" deserving of this, please consider that the reality is much more complicated. Imagine a sibling, an older parent or grandparent, any small child being put through this. Because, believe me, they are.
