Hi everyone,

Thank you for following along! It’s been a rocky month, with multiple hospital admissions due to fevers and possible infections related to Denis’ chemotherapy. We’ve also had a roller coaster of emotions around insurance uncertainties and the possibility of having to transfer his care outside of MD Anderson. Through it all, we have been so grateful for your prayers. We continue to see God’s hand guiding each step, often in ways we couldn’t have anticipated, and giving us hope when things feel uncertain.

Our family:
We’ve officially moved to Houston until the end of the year, and it has made such a difference. Not having to travel back and forth to the hospital has been a huge relief, and having Ella and our parents with us has made this season feel a little bit easier. The timing has also been providential, especially when Denis needed an unexpected admission. Being nearby has allowed us to get him the care he needs quickly and bring him fresh, nutritious meals from home.

For now, our days have become a quieter rhythm of unpacking, settling in, enjoying the fall weather (or the Houston version of it), and spending time together on the couch. When Denis is feeling well enough, we try to step outside for some fresh air. We’re learning to appreciate these ordinary moments, even when life looks very different from what we had imagined.

What’s next:
Denis will be finishing his final rounds of chemotherapy and beginning preparations for the stem cell transplant. This feels like a big milestone, but also a daunting one. His doctor has reminded us that, as intense as the treatment has been so far, the transplant process will be even more demanding, and has encouraged us to prepare ourselves mentally for what lies ahead. There is a part of us that is eager to get through this next chapter, but also a real nervousness about what it will bring. We’re taking it one step at a time and asking for the grace to meet each day as it comes.

Meanwhile, we’re beginning to explore some homeschooling adventures with Ella, and looking forward to making the most of fall through outdoor walks, baking, and slower days together. We’ll also be keeping our world small for a while to protect Denis from COVID, flu, and other infections as he prepares for transplant.

Thank you for continuing to pray for us and walk alongside our family. This season has brought plenty of uncertainty, but it has also reminded us how deeply we are loved and how often hope arrives through the people, provisions, and small moments God places in our path. We are so grateful not to be walking this road alone!

**Just a reminder:  We are incredibly grateful for all the financial support we’ve received so far! We’re still receiving larger donations through this platform, but for those who prefer to give directly and not incur higher processing fees, the Zelle account Jolly’s dad, Joseph John, is still active. You can use the QR code or his number: (956) 252-3092. We’ll continue using this website for support as well.

Dennis and Jolly - Know that you are in our daily prayers and Mass offerings! God is with you. 2 Cor 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, 4 who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.“
