Hello friends, 

 

We wanted to give you a deeper update on our girl DeeDee and ask you — from the bottom of our hearts — to keep the prayers flowing strong. 
 

Today has been especially tough. DeeDee continues to be in a lot of pain and still isn’t able to keep anything down. Because of that, the care team has shifted her anti-rejection medications to IV to ensure her body receives the support it needs even when she can’t eat or drink. They’ve also started giving her injections in her stomach to help manage pancreatic irritation and aid in her recovery. 

As you can imagine, this has taken a toll emotionally. She’s tired — physically and mentally — and her spirits are understandably low. Physical therapy has been paused for now, and she’s on a full liquid diet while the team continues to monitor her closely and adjust her treatment plan. 

 

So here’s what we’re asking for: 

Pray.  

Pray for DeeDee’s body to start responding better to her new pancreas. 

Pray that her system calms, that the vomiting stops, and that she can begin to hold down even a sip of nourishment. 

Pray that her spirit is lifted, that she feels wrapped in love, and that she knows — without a doubt — that we are all standing with her, fighting with her, and believing in full recovery.
