Deedee Barr
Hi everyone,
It’s Day 14 post-transplant, and our girl DeeDee is still in the ring — with her two new teammates, Megan Kensley Barr (kidney) and Morgan Penelope Barr (pancreas), still doing their jobs like champs!
While her new organs are functioning beautifully, healing from a transplant — especially a double — is no small thing. DeeDee is facing some tough days. Her body is tired, food still isn’t her friend, and she’s having to dig deep for strength. The team is keeping a close eye on her and adjusting her care as needed.
She’s not quite up for physical therapy today, and meals are more of a negotiation than a success story (jello and Italian ice are hanging in there, but just barely). Still, progress is happening — even if it’s slow, even if it’s quiet.
We are so proud of her. She is pushing through, and her spirit — even in the hard moments — is still unmistakably DeeDee.
Please continue to pray:
- That DeeDee’s body continues to heal and grow stronger
- That she finds comfort and rest
- That Megan and Morgan stay happy in their new home
- And that she feels deeply loved, because she is
We’re also keeping the donor’s family close in our hearts — we don’t forget that this gift came through deep sacrifice.
Thank you for continuing to walk with us.
With gratitude,
DeeDee’s Family & Support Squad
