Deedee Barr
Hey everyone,
Today marks Day 17 since DeeDee’s transplant, and things are finally starting to look up. Both Megan Kensley Barr (kidney) and Morgan Penelope Barr (pancreas) are still holding it down like the champions they are!
After a stretch of rough days, yesterday brought a major turning point. DeeDee didn’t need any pain meds, and for the first time in a while, there were no signs of nausea or vomiting. She even ate a little (though she remains strongly opposed to those protein shakes — jello and Italian ice continue to win the popularity contest).
The best news? Today she may be heading home. The care team is finalizing plans, and while she’ll still have medication, a JP drain, and hydration support at home, this is a huge step forward in her healing journey.
Thank you for showing up for her and for us. Every prayer, every message, every ounce of love has carried her to this point.
Please keep praying:
- That the transition home goes smoothly
- That her strength continues to build
- That she feels love, comfort, and relief
- And that the donor’s family continues to feel our deepest gratitude for the gift they gave
With gratitude,
DeeDee’s Family & Support Squad
