Deana's Cancer Journey
I had to get a nuclear bone scan today. I'm not a fan of the injection, it makes me feel weird and tired. I had the results on my portal by the time I got home. They said there is no new areas and I have age appropriate degenerative type tracer activity in the shoulders and bilateral feet. Oh so I guess that means I'm getting old? So that is good news. I still have the get a CT scan and an echo done. Then I will be good for 3-4 months. I have six days until I'm off of the xeloda for seven days and I can't wait my poor hands and feet are so tight and achy. I have noticed certain textures really hurt, for example I took my big toe to swipe something off my rug and that hurt, trying to open jars is another one that hurts.
School started yesterday. I had to wish all my school friends a great year. I broke down in the morning because I wish I was there. This has been the hardest part of this journey, teaching really is a part of me. Gramma duty is awesome! I have stuff from when I taught preschool and manipulatives that are perfect for him to learn a lot from. I love that boy something fierce and am happy to teach him the skills he will need to be great in kinder :). He gets to have fun with the rest of the family too. I make sure to rest, take time for myself, and do things to continue the healing journey.
I have noticed that my muscles in my arms and shoulders are doing better. I'm not having the achiness or pain like I did a month ago. I think the exercises I've been doing is really helping.
Now if my dad would behave health wise! My oldest took him to the VA about the accident he was in. They sent him to the ER because of his heart rate being high and they want to check for blood clots. He is on blood thinners (shots) and is up and moving all the time so I don't get why this is happening.
Don't remember if I mentioned I have 3 bunnies that live in my backyard. I have watched them out of my office window playing with each other. They keep me entertained and laughing. I swear the bunnies in AZ have bigger ears than the ones in Wisconsin/Illinois.
I need to get something to eat spending that long at Mayo takes a lot out of me and makes me hungry. Love to all!
