Hello Everyone,
As you all probably know by now, Mark, my mom's partner whom she lives with was a in a pretty serious accident last Wed 7/15, my mom's birthday. He was in a head-on collision on Greenwood Ave in Bethel, on the way back from making flower delivery arrangements for her birthday party that we've been planning for months. Sadly he had to miss the party as he's been in the hospital ever since.
Luckily he is going to be ok, the airbag likely saved him from being in significantly worse condition. He suffered a lumbar fracture, a neck sprain and had a minor brain bleed, which initially had to be monitored pretty closely, the brain bleed is no longer a worry as I understand it and he has been making steady progress. He could be discharged from the hospital to a physical rehabilitation clinic as early as tomorrow, once the insurance details get sorted out.
As Cyndie mentioned, the car is totaled, although that hasn't even been a priority since the main concern has been Mark's health, and his road to recovery could be a long one. He's also been the one taking care of their driving needs, which is all the more reason we all deeply appreciate your willingness to help my mom get around.
My mom and I (and our family) has been overwhelmed with everyone's generosity and support during this difficult time. I've been traveling yesterday and today, and my mom's been at the hospital daily, so we haven't been able to get her set up with an account here yet, but we should be able to do that tomorrow.
One of us will continue to post updates on Mark's progress, and please feel free to reach out to me directly, for any reason in the meantime.
Thank you again everyone for your support and well wishes, and thank you Cyndie for setting this up.

P.S. Some of you know me by my first name, Kelsey. My mom calls me by my middle name, Mike. I don't want to confuse anyone.
