Flooding Turned my In-Laws' Home Into a Disaster Zone

The flooding in Indianapolis was really bad. My in-laws, who live near the White River, had to leave their home as water rose all around. Thankfully, they got out safely, but their house was hit hard. Five feet of water inside left a mess. They have lived there for 47 years, and it's their only home.

Now we are two days into cleaning up the mess. It’s been a lot of work. We took all the furniture and appliances to the curb because they were waterlogged. The carpet and its padding (soft underlayment) got ripped up. All the wood paneling and drywall had to come down. Even the insulation was pulled out. It all went to the curb.

There's still a lot more to do, but we are working hard to get through this. ```
