Dear Friends and Family, 

We want to keep you all in the loop regarding Dana’s journey as she continues her fight against glioblastoma. 

The next few months will bring some important steps forward in her treatment plan. Here’s the latest update: 

 

Upcoming Treatment Schedule: 

    •    Week of Dec 15: Dana will undergo a round of higher-dose chemotherapy. This will be an intense phase of treatment, but we’re hopeful it will make a difference. 

    •    Jan 12 – Week of Jan 16: Dana will complete another round of the higher-dose chemo, continuing the tough but necessary regimen to prepare for what comes next. 

 

After that, Dana will travel to Duke University on Feb 5-6 for follow-up visits. These visits will help determine if she still qualifies for an exciting new clinical trial that could be an important step forward in her care. 

 

What the Clinical Trial Involves: 

    •    The clinical trial is scheduled to start in March. 

    •    The initial phase will involve Dana staying 1 week as an inpatient at Duke’s ICU. 

    •    After that, she will need to return to Duke once a month for follow-up visits and additional injections, as part of the ongoing treatment. 

 

While this trial represents hope and the potential for significant progress, it will also involve a lot of travel and logistical challenges. One of the biggest hurdles is the cost of traveling back and forth to Duke each month for the foreseeable future. 

 

How You Can Help: 

    •    Donations: We will need to cover Dana’s travel expenses for her regular visits to Duke. Any contributions, large or small, will make a big difference in ensuring that Dana can focus on her treatment without the added stress of travel costs. 

    •    Thoughts, Prayers, and Positive Vibes: As always, Dana and our whole family deeply appreciate your continued thoughts, prayers, and positive energy. These have made all the difference so far, and we are so grateful for the support we’ve received from all of you.
