Back at Duke this week for the next phase of her clinical trial.
This time she received a perilymphatic injection of immunotherapy into the lymph nodes in her neck. The goal is to activate her immune system again so it can recognize and destroy any remaining cancer cells that might still be hiding in her brain.
She handled the injection like an absolute champ.
When they explained what they were about to do, she just smiled and said:
“I gave birth to a child… how bad could this really be?” 😅
“I gave birth to a child… how bad could this really be?” 😅
Moments like that remind me how unbelievably strong she is.
We’re incredibly grateful for the doctors, researchers, nurses, and everyone at Duke working to push treatments like this forward.
One more step in the fight. One more reason to hope.
Thank you to everyone who continues to pray, encourage us, and walk this road with us. 💙
