Colt melted hearts and continued to persevere through today. We are a little behind in his recovery due to the need for continued sedation but did move to the regular surgery recovery unit this afternoon. Pain management continueΒ to be difficult but we are working on a solid regimen. He went for two stroller rides and took a few assisted steps. The staff here are so wonderful they thought to motivate him by taking us on a tour of the laundry rooms in the hospital. He happily instructed us on how to wash someone's blanket we found and when it was time to go put it in the dryer he was so tickled that the nurses in the new unit all knew and acknowledged that was what we were going to do.Β
Tentative discharge on Sunday as he works to check off some more boxes like walking, showering, removing the drains (yes- before going home!) and navigating stairs.
