Cody's Comeback
We’ve had so many people reach out lately asking how they can help our family through the holidays and into Cody’s stem cell transplant season. I can’t even begin to explain how emotional it makes me that we’re being thought of in this way...especially during such a busy time of year. GOD IS GOOD!
A little update on Cody: he is absolutely KICKING CISPLATIN’S butt. 🙌 He received blood yesterday and will receive platelets tomorrow morning, and he’s handling everything with so much strength and resilience. We’re so proud of him.
For those who have asked, here’s what the next couple of months look like:
Cody’s MIBG scan will confirm everything, but as of now, stem cell transplant is scheduled to begin December 29. Our first stay is expected to last Dec 29–Jan 26 (yes… the entire time, and yes, it could go longer). Then we’ll have about a two-week break at home before heading right back for round two of stem cell around February 9–March 9 (again, dates and length could change).

Because we’ve had dozens and dozens of people ask how they can help, here are a few things Eric and I talked through:
1. Pray. Always. Don’t cease.
2. Tithing to our family during this season for medical bills. Some families have felt led to donate monthly, and it has truly been a lifeline as treatment stretches 18 months–2 years.
3. DoorDash gift cards for our long winter inpatient stays (hospital food gets OLD really fast, and Cody refuses to eat it 90% of the time).
4. Meals for home. Being at the hospital makes cooking nearly impossible, and having something nourishing ready at home is such a gift.
5. And pray some more. Truly.

That’s it.
We have been cared for, supported, and blessed by so many of you already, and the fact that people continue to ask how they can serve our family brings me to tears. We love you, we feel your prayers, and we are so, so grateful.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of you. ❤️
