WE FOUND OUT KILLIAN’S SURGICAL NEEDS TODAY!

Hi to everyone who has donated, and to those that have taken the ride with us regarding Killian the puppy, who was born with a cleft palate, and his healthcare needs! Today was his surgical consultation. He was awesome and we finally have a date we can share! Mr. Killian is slated for a February 26, 2027 procedure. He will be 24 weeks old, which is 5 1/2 months. The goal is for him to grow some before the surgery is done. This might heal some of the cleft palate as he grows into his body. It will never completely heal on its own and this is why the surgery is a must! Additionally, it’s helps for him to be anethetized at an older age. We spoke with the surgeon about Pugs being put under and if he was very aware of the caution regarding giving anesthesia to a brachycephalic dog. He has been doing this along time and he shared with us the steps to get a Pug successfully through being sedated. We are very comfortable with this doctor and the staff we met. However, when checking out we were told the surgery will be between $6,500-$7,500. This is why we’ve been promoting Killian and have asked you to support his health needs. 

Many have asked about adopting Killian. We are still holding off in finding Killian’s forever family. We don’t know 100% yet of where he will be after the surgery. However, if the surgery is a success and he doesn’t need a 2nd surgery, Killian will go on to living a happy, healthy, normal Puggie life without any issues. Isn’t that amazing! Once we find his definitive health needs we will then locate an adopting family. It is only fair to the family but most importantly—Killian.
