Just 4 more dives to go, now!

Read that headline to the tune of Edwin Starr’s “25 Miles”. 🎶 Come on feet get moving. Huh! 🎶

We have reached a new stage of my recovery. (I’m learning to slice my recovery into really small chunks, so there are lots of milestones). 

I am released from my 10lb weight restriction!! So I can start back to yoga now, and sleeping on my side with impunity. We are overjoyed! Really. 

That was from the plastic surgeon’s team, and was corroborated by the Wound Care Clinic’s check up I also had that week. I am down to 3 open wounds! It was 2, just the ones that needed the vacuum earlier, but, well, the skin is all delicate there. 

So in other news, you all are amazing. We would not have made it this far without friends, loved ones, and community surrounding us. I am especially thankful to the handful of people who have continued to cook for us occasionally. Having that handled while our attention is elsewhere has been priceless. 

Ok, so that wasn’t actually news, but it’s worth highlighting. Again & again. 

The help that is still trickling in is making such a difference, because we can’t shove normal life stuff off any further. 

Speaking of normal life stuff- I need to wrap this update up soon, because Ryan is packing up my storage unit right now to move it to *our* new storage unit. Tomorrow his U-Haul box (like a Pod, only smaller) gets delivered to the new storage place, and our things will get to mingle. He’ll have all his Cubs shirts and jerseys. FOUR months later than intended, but here we are, moving life forward now as best we can.
