Christian, the Blouir family
July 22nd changed our lives forever.
Christian had a seizure at home while he was with his two younger siblings. They didn’t know what was happening—only that something was terribly wrong. I rushed home from work and immediately took Christian to the ER. While there, he had another seizure, and shortly afterward, we were told that there was a mass on his brain.
An MRI that Friday confirmed our worst fear: Christian has an inoperable brain tumor.
On July 27th, Christian underwent a biopsy of the tumor. We are still waiting for the full pathology results, but the preliminary results have shown that this is an aggressive, high-grade cancer. We have been told that his chances of survival are very low.
Radiation treatments are being scheduled to help control his symptoms and, hopefully, give us more precious time with him. Right now, we are taking everything one day at a time and praying for answers, for healing, and for more time with our son.
As a mom, there are no words to describe what it feels like to hear your child say, “I don’t want to die.” Those words have broken our hearts in ways I never knew were possible.
This has been an incredibly difficult time for our entire family. I am now Christian’s full-time caregiver and am unable to work while we navigate his care and everything that comes with this devastating diagnosis. There are so many unknowns, and honestly, we don’t know what the future holds.
But we do know Who holds our future. ❤️
We are trusting in the Lord and holding tightly to our faith, even on the days when we are scared, overwhelmed, and struggling to understand everything that is happening.
We are humbly asking for help.
Above all else, please pray for Christian. Pray for healing. Pray for strength. Pray for peace and comfort for him and our entire family. Pray that the doctors have wisdom and that God gives us more time with our son.
