Chris Begins Second Week of Rehab, Making Great Strides
It's been awhile for a post because it's been so busy. We're seeing some positive strides forward. Saturday Chris was released for a grounds pass and we brought Tess to visit him. Anyone who wants to visit him outside is welcome to do that. It's great for him to get fresh air and see life outside. They may be letting him wheel around the corner to the MUSC greenway this week.
His therapy team is fantastic, and Chris is working super hard. Yesterday Chris, Aldyn and I played a game of UNO with the Recreational Therapist. They have so many tools to aid him to enjoy daily activities that he will learn along the way. He is able to move cards somewhat with his right hand.

Chris has been able to practice being in a standing position momentarily with assistance of the therapist belt and the use of an easy chair. An Easy Chair is a chair that Chris is strapped into and the hydraulics get him to a certain angle so he can work on strengthening his quads and hamstrings. It's amazing to see him so determined to get better. We're hoping today he might even get a full grooming so his head is no longer fuzzy. His beard is starting to creep out of the C Collar and is becoming quite itchy.
We feel very blessed during this Holy Week to have so many people helping and praying for us. Every day, we are making progress (getting stronger bit by bit). We'll keep telling you about the small and big victories that come our way. It’s not easy, but we’re staying positive and focused on recovery.
