Halfway through Chemo!
Brent, Chi, Austin, & Nora
Yesterday was my 3rd treatment which was the best one yet! A quick breakdown on chemo days:
October 17, 1st Chemo: The second chemo medicine, Carboplatin, makes makes me nauseous. Once I felt the symptoms, my nurse gave me additional zofran. Unfortunately, it did not do the trick, so she also added composine to the mix. I still needed additional meds but with almost being done for the day, we opted to not add anymore. Once back from treatment, I went right to bed until 8:30PM.
November 7, 2nd Chemo: This time they added 10mg of composine before I started my chemo meds. It worked but I was pretty knocked out for the remainder of the several hour treatment. Luckily, I was able to stay up once I got home to have dinner with my family and go to bed at a reasonable hour.
November 28, 3rd Chemo: Thank goodness for Meredith Foushee as she suggested to half the dose of composine and that did the trick as it was the perfect balance of me not being nauseous or overy tired.
Thank you to all for helping with my kids, walking with me, reaching out to me, sending encouraging notes and helping with meals! I am thankful and grateful for this village!!
Much Love,
Chi
