A+ report card
Brent, Chi, Austin, & Nora
We got some great news this week! Chi met her surgical oncologist on Tuesday for her halfway point checkup. We learned that she has responded very well to the treatment so far. The doctor described it as a “phenomenal” response and gave her an A+ (which I’m glad, Chi can be a bit competitive if you weren’t aware). Her tumor has shrunk significantly and her impacted lymph node also looked much better. She will continue with her treatment plan of finishing out her last 3 chemo sessions, with the #4 being on Tuesday.
As a side effect from the chemo, she has had hair loss so we went to a wig shop on Friday and tried on some wigs for the first time. She did not like them! We found one that I thought looked pretty good and agreed that the others did not look like Chi. So for now we’ve put that on pause and she’s been sporting lots of hats. We’re hoping that most of the hair loss has already occurred and that she won’t need to do a wig, but time will tell.
Over the last few weeks we have been trying to keep things as normal as possible and take advantage of opportunities when she feels better. We’ve made it to a few holiday parties in the last week. It’s been great for her to be able to see many of you and get energized by your support. We are even surprising the kids with something fun this weekend!
Thanks for all of your love and support, and Happy Holidays to you and your families.
Brent
