Update on Caramel Corn’s Surgery

Caramel Corn had her surgery today and it went as well as could be expected! The doctor didn’t end up removing the mass on her abdomen, because there were so many issues with her mouth and she didn’t want CC to be under anesthesia for too long. She had around half of her teeth removed (see picture) on the left side, which is where she had massive swelling and a mass on her gums and the back of her tongue. Thankfully those stitches will dissolve over time, so we don’t have to go through the hassle of removing them later. 

A biopsy was taken from the mass they removed, so when the results come back we’ll have a better idea of what exactly caused all that swelling. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and just some antibiotics and time will take care of it. Fingers crossed! 

She’s still a little woozy and confused, but she’s home now on a nice clean towel to rest. I’ll continue to post updates as we find out results of the biopsy and through her healing journey.
