Back in my own bed for the first time in 12 days felt surreal. β€οΈ
Airing out so much of my personal life and medical information is weird, but so many of you have reached out asking how Iβm doing and how you can help, so hereβs the latest.
Being home is amazing, but itβs also a little scary being away from the constant monitoring and care Iβve had for the last 12 days. Iβm incredibly grateful to have an attentive partner, family, and friends who are checking in, stopping by, bringing food, and making sure Iβm okay.
And yes, I absolutely want food. π But I also want to start rebuilding my independence and confidence being home, especially during the day when Iβm alone. So please feel free to text and ask about stopping in. Come make sure Iβm okay, help with Emmett, keep me company, help me get ready for the day or overnight, or just make sure Iβm actually behaving and taking care of myself.
This road to recovery is going to be a long one. Right now, my tentative return to work is September 12 at 25%, so Iβm going to have a lot of time to fill between now and then. Please text me. Call me. Come see me. Help keep me occupied.
I love you all. I genuinely donβt know how to adequately express how grateful I am for the people who have surrounded me through all of this.
I had brain surgery! How crazy is that?!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I am alive and that is a true gift.
