Happy Birthday, Calvin!

Our baby boy is officially a toddler!

Calvin turned 2 years old today and we've had an exciting week!

Calvin had a feeding evaluation done and is now starting feeding therapy to hopefully gain the oral motor skills to maybe one day be able to eat by mouth. Currently, Calvin is 100% g-tube fed and does not take anything orally. So unfortunately, no birthday cake for him today BUT he did get a lick of chocolate from daddy's chocolate chip pancake this morning!

This is another reason why making this therapy intensive happen is so important for Calvin. Our main goal right now is for him to gain the strength and ability to hold up his own head. This is essential for him to be able to safely eat someday, as well as being able to achieve so many other milestones!

As he gets older, it becomes more evident how far behind Calvin is with typical milestones. HOWEVER, it also becomes more clear to us every day how strong this sweet boy is and how hard he works to overcome every obstacle that he's been faced with in his short life.

We are so proud of our big two year old boy and can't wait to continue to watch him thrive!
