This man has been through hell the last two weeks.
I’ve never seen someone in as much pain as he has been in while recovering from the bladder & UTI issues, and I myself have gone through three unmedicated childbirths…still not close.
He has continued to teach/preach, and that means taking the time to do the study because it is a rare occasion for him to even repeat one of his own sermons…He never takes the easy way out, even when he could/should.

This week alone, he has
*Had a PET scan with a few surprises :/
*Gathered with his small group
*Studied for and took his NCE (National Counselor Exam), he needed a 93 to pass…he scored 112
*He officially graduated with a 3.95 GPA and received his diploma,
*Today he waited 8 hours in the hospital for an exploratory procedure that was basically a $63,000 gamble…That we lost. We arrived at the hospital at 10:30 am for his 12:30 surgery time, which kept getting pushed back due to someone else's loved one undergoing a complicated surgery. He was finally taken back at 6:30. I went to get a drink, and before I could even pay for it, I was being called to the consultation room. So many terrifying things went through my mind, but I knew in my gut what the surgeon was going to say. He is not eligible for removal surgery, unfortunately. The cancer is too far down his throat for them to have any confidence in the (TORS) surgery.
*Tomorrow he will write a beautiful, meaningful sermon.
*Saturday, we will celebrate him as much as he will let us at his graduation party that I am SO glad I planned months ago.
*Sunday, he will teach his class and then share the message he lovingly prepared (He is on a countdown to the final 4 before he takes time off to enter this battle)
*Monday he will meet with the radiologist oncologist and the next stage will begin…
But for now I just want to
CELEBRATE HIM
He has worked so incredibly hard the past 2 years, and we are all so stinking proud of him!
I will continually lift you up into the Father's healing hands. I l love you brother, my heart breaks for you and your family. May God be with you beyond what you can imagine.
