Bo Benson
An update on our boy, Bo. ❤️
We are home. And while we have a long road of recovery ahead of us, our hearts are filled with hope.
We will be forever thankful for what Mayo was able to do for our boy in just three days. They do this all day, every day, and the level of care, knowledge, and compassion we experienced was beyond anything we could have imagined.
Bo is responding very well to his new medications, and we are so hopeful that this is the beginning of a really good chapter in his healing journey. His doctor felt that the best place for Bo to heal right now is home, surrounded by family 24/7. He told us that patients tend to get out of bed more when they’re home, and he wants Bo getting fresh air, sunshine, and the love of his family. ❤️
We will have weekly appointments to closely monitor his progress. If any of his labs start to slip, they will readmit him.
As far as a transplant goes, Bo is still being evaluated. His doctor told us that they want to preserve what Bo was born with at all cost—and that is exactly what we are praying and hoping for too.
So, we’re taking this one day at a time. One breath, one lab, one little victory at a time.
And I’m asking you all, from this momma’s heart, please keep praying for our boy. Pray for healing. Pray for strength. Pray for his body to respond to these medications. And pray that he continues moving in the right direction so that we can preserve what God gave him from the very beginning.
We cannot thank you enough for the love, prayers, generosity, and encouragement you have poured over our family. You have carried us through some of the hardest days of our lives, and we will never forget it.
With all of our hearts,
The Bensons ❤️
